The Berbice Cricket Board will today hold their Ordinary General meeting beginning at the Boards Office at Charlotte Street New Amsterdam, From 10:00hrs.
The meeting is expected to be a stormy one since hot on the agenda is the issue concerning the participation of the First Vice President of the Board David Black and Assistant Secretary Carol Nurse in the recently held Guyana Cricket Boards controversial Annual General meeting against the wishes of the BCB.
The two executive members participated in the meeting although it was decided by the BCB that it will not be a part of the GCB annual general meeting. It was also noted that Black also hired a vehicle and carried non members to the meeting. The BCB will be looking at instituting severe disciplinary measures against the two errant senior Executive members.
The Association and 13 clubs make up the BCB all are expected to be in attendance. The Associations are Upper Corentyne, West Berbice and Berbice River. While the Clubs are Albion, Rose Hall, Blairmont and Port Mourant Community Centers. Kildonan, Whim, Chesney, Mental Hospital, Mount Sinai, Police, Bermine, Rose Hall Town and Young Warriors.
Each association is entitled to three members while the clubs are entitled to two. Black has stated that he will not give up easily and as vowed to fight whatever decision the board has taken. Other matters on the agenda includes Financial Statement, Reports by President, Secretary Competitions Committee, Special Events, Correspondence, Motions and any other business.
