Members of the deaf community from New Amsterdam, Georgetown, and Linden will be performing in three drama pieces based on HIV/AIDS, the Emancipation of Africans, and a Christian play entitled ‘Eve’. Dances and acrobatics will also be featured this evening at Theater Guild.
According to Sabine Mc Intoch, President, Deaf in Guyana, participants of the programme, Deaf Got Talent 2011, for the past 10 weeks were exposed to drama workshops. The lead facilitator of the workshops was Daniel Ilaire, a deaf drama student from Gallaudet University, Washington.
Mc Intoch noted that audio interpretation will be available for members of the audience who do not understand sign language.
This drama programme is supported by the Volunteer Services Overseas with funding from the European Union.
