The mere idea that former FIFA Vice President and former president of CONCACAF and CFU; Mr. Austin “Jack” Warner had arranged a special CFU General Council Meeting in his native Trinidad, on May 10 and 11, 2011, Editor, suffice it to say that “Bin Hammam at the time as head of the Asian Confederation and a FIFA executive didn’t attend the CONCACAF Congress in New York, the same time with Mr. Joseph ‘Sepp’ Blatter, President, FIFA speaks volumes for itself”. So, in actuality why did Mr. Warner not arrange a Special Congress for the entire CONCACAF region to facilitate Bin Hammam’s views as challenger to Blatter’s presidency?
Sir, resorting to CFU only could have been construed as undemocratic principles! Why sideline Canada, Mexico and the USA, with the latter two regional powerhouses? As a consequence there must have been an “Emergency Executive Meeting of the CFU, to plan for Bin Hammam’s visit!” While it must be taken into careful consideration that the Finance Committee would have been part of the deliberations Moreso, with the perception of bribes being offered to delegates amounting to USD – 40, 000 for exchange of votes. In addition to in excess of USD-2,000,000 entering into the domain of CFU?
As such it comes as surprise that FIFA’s executive intends to place “some Caribbean football administrators under scrutiny/ the microscope”, albeit with a fine teeth comb. Wherein “Cadillac style of living; first class airline travel; 5 star hotel accommodation; aided by a Jurassic style of administration/leadership and stone age football.” All of which definitely occurs in Guyana, and as one Brazilian friend told me “senor Guyana’s national team plays similar like spaghetti”. From his hand movement one could have detected mixed up!
Finally, with a “Goalless Goal Project” it’s now opportune for Guyana to be placed under the microscope, and in the process remove all of the unwanted microscopic organisms, that cannot even assist in repairing a worn out tissue. “For the Good of the Game and Love of the World”. Thank you FIFA for implementing Fair Play within administrators. What took you so long? Moreover, when the president of the Guyana Football Federation, in his capacity as a Vice President of CFU, went public in his support for a “forensic audit of CONCACAF books over a 5-6 year period” but completely ignores the financial scandal within CFU! As such the entire Finance Committee must be sanctioned! Since a significant amount of associations, affiliates and executives of the GFF, which constitutes the General Council, would never by way of motion or resolution demand a Special General Council Meeting be convened.
And the only item on the agenda to be discussed is the role of the GFF’s President in the financial scandal!
