The Ministry of Agriculture, in recognition of the fact that greater efforts need to be made to protect the earth’s ozone layer, is reaching out to consumers, particularly refrigerator technicians and agencies that use refrigerators and air conditioning systems to inform them of the different types of refrigerants or refrigerating gases, and the harm that they can cause to the ozone layer.
The National Ozone Action Unit, Hydrometeorological Service, will be hosting a one-day-seminar on August 26.
While this seminar may target technicians, it is very useful for all users of air conditioning systems and refrigerators to get acquainted with the gases and assist in preserving what’s left of the ozone layer.
A representative of the Ministry of Agriculture told this publication that the initiative is a part of the world “go green” strategy and consumers can assist by replacing their R22 refrigerants with either the R407C or R410A.
