Over $8M at stake
Another big money horserace meet is on the horizon, this time it’s the Rising Sun Turf Club, West Coast Berbice which will be holding their super horseracing event on Sunday August 28 at their Arima Park racetrack.
Ten races are listed for the day which promises to an action packed day of racing since all the various categories of horses will have a chance to compete. Incentives totaling close to $8M in cash, trophies are up for grabs during the day’s programme which get started at 13:00hrs.
The feature B class event has a total prize money of close to $ 2M with the winner set to race away with $1M and trophy over 1600M compliments of Banks DIH Limited.
The E Class event has a winner’s prize of $500,000 and trophy with the horses set to race over a distance of 1600M.
The other races are as follows: there are two three year old events for animals Bred and Born in Guyana and the West Indies which has a winning price tag of $500,000 and trophy over 1400M.
The other three year old race is for Guyana Bred and born horses and that winning prize is set at $400,000 and trophy also over 1400M.
The G and lower showdown will see the winner galloping off with $ 400,000 and trophy over 1100M.
There are also two races for the two year old horses. The first is for those bred and born in the West Indies and they will race for a winners money of $400,000 and trophy over 1100M.
The other two year old race is for those horses born in Guyana with the winner set to take home $350,000and trophy over 1100M.
There is an H class race with the winning money set at $300,000and trophy and is a 1600M event. There are also two I class events, the first is for animals classified ‘I’ and lower and will see the winner carting off $200,000. The other I class event is for those classified I3 and lower and those with one win. The winner of that race will run away with $150,000.
There will be trophies and other incentives at stake for the top jockeys and other outstanding individual performers, including top trainer and stables, compliments of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market and the Rising Sun Turf Club.
