Super Bike champion Stephen Vieira was full of praise for his sponsor Sunburst Orange Juice, mechanic Maurice Menezes
and tuner Marcel Profitt after his dominant performance during the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club Meet which was held last Sunday, at the South Dakota Circuit.
Vieira, who was astride his 2008 Suzuki GSX R600 was untouchable as he easily destroyed a strong field to remain unbeaten on a rain-affected day that saw the final race in the category cancelled due to the wet track that the Organisers felt was too dangerous for the riders.
The soft-spoken champion, who also holds the track record of 44.003 seconds at Bushy Park in Barbados, speaking with Kaieteur Sport yesterday from his home said that he would like to go back there on August 28 to attack his own record, but was uncertain at this point in time due to insufficient funding.
He added that should that become available, he is willing to go there and represent Guyana.
Vieira was the most outstanding rider during the first leg of the Caribbean Series which was held at Dover Raceway in Jamaica and has a strong chance of capturing the overall individual title something he stated he would dearly love to accomplish.
The local speedster returned home from Jamaica with two wins and a second place finish to cap a solid performance.
