The Cavaliers Sport and Tour Club stages two race walk events in observance of Emancipation on Sunday July 31 and Monday August 1.
The starting venue for the first race walk which will commence at 06:30hrs is the Kuru-Kururu Well, Linden Highway.
The race proceeds to Cindy’s Junction for the finish while the second race walk begins at 06:30hrs at Agricola Road head and ends at the Harbour Bridge Mall, Bagotstown.
Trophies, medals and other prizes will be presented by the Leader and Presidential Candidate of the Fundamental Structure Group, Mr. Anthony Snow.
Meanwhile, Snow told members of the Hubu Sports Club, Parika, East Bank Essequibo that his group will be placing much emphasis on the development of sports countrywide as sports is a business.
Mr. Snow said that his group is committed to develop and expand all sports disciplines if elected to office.
Addressing members of the club at the St. Lawrence Ground after presenting trophies for an Emancipation Day 10-10 overs cricket fiesta, Snow promised to assist in upgrading the ground and erecting facilities to aid in developing sports in the community.
The Hubu Sports Club will also stage a 20-over Cricket Fiesta on August 8 for male and female teams in the country.
In accepting the gifts, Executive Member, Mr. Aubrey King thanked the group for their assistance at a time when sponsorship is a major constraint for the club.
