Cowards hide behind anonymity

DEAR EDITOR,
We are in the rapidly changing age of technology as proven in the changes of the forms of communication that we are utilizing at present. We used to express our views in the form of oration and writing.
Those forms were what we now see as slow and inefficient as compared to online methods.
Now technology has allowed us to interact with each other through the speed of the internet and have our views and news posted in real time. That is the main advantage of digital communications.
As a habitual reader of your newspaper, I was at first pleased that you have allowed readers to interact with each other through the Disqus Blogging Service. I see that as an improvement in your standards and also allowing opinions and expressions to be freely introduced in an ideal environment which fosters legitimate debates.
During the course of Saturday, I’ve noticed that some anonymous persons placed critical remarks about the dealings of Freddie Kissoon, Christopher Ram and Ramesh Seebarran. While some were debunking and challenging the reputation of these individuals, I was totally disgusted to see a huge percentage of comments attacking the family members of these individuals.
Gratitude should be given to the staff of Kaieteur News for clearing these comments.
However, I’ve seen an anonymous person promoting some truthfulguyana online blog that bears striking similarity to Liveinguyana. It is a shame that these anonymous individuals take advantage of freedom of expression to promote and improve their filthy ways.
If Christopher Ram and Freddie Kissoon are involved in illegal activities then the most dignified way of resolving the matter is for these claimants to show their faces and face the challenge. I personally wait to see those hideous individuals who hide under the cloak of anonymity to post utter thrash against respectable members of society through truthfulguyana, liveinguyana and another one that has a profane name that cannot be published.
Their actions will result in harsh penalties when the libel suits come.
To those anonymous bloggers who seek to ruin the credibility of Freddie Kissoon and Christopher Ram, take note and desist from your sinful actions.
