BV Triumph United (BVTU) and Plaisance grabbed full points in their latest matches of the Mackeson / East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) senior league when play continued on the weekend at the BV Community Ground.
Former champions BVTU aiming to regain dominance in the association were led to their win 2-0 win over Golden Stars by Jumane Summerset who scored both goals.
Buxton United and Ann’s Grove battled to a 0-0 stalemate in the other match that was contested on Sunday.
On Saturday, Plaisance needled Mahaica compliments of Troy Charles’ 39th minute strike, while the other match-up saw Victoria Kings and defending champions Bakewell Buxton Stars playing to a 1-1 tie.
Victoria Kings, also former champs of the association took the lead in the 18th through Winston Pompey. It was an advantage that they almost held to the end but that was not to be as Kurt Garnette ensured Buxton an even share of the points when he converted in the 70th minute. More matches will be played this weekend at the same venue.
