Twenty-seven year old Simon Buttlers was chopped several times last Friday by an elder brother who the victim was trying to evict from the family’s South Sophia residence.
He has been admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) with wounds to the head, neck and limbs.
Simon, who usually resides at North Sophia with his wife, told Kaieteur News that his brother had moved into the South Sophia home some time ago after a dispute with the occupants of the house at which he had previously resided.
Simon’s South Sophia home was then occupied by Christopher and his mother.
The victim described his assailant as “arrogant and unmannerly”. On Friday, Simon approached his sibling and asked him to leave.
The brother refused, an altercation broke out and the brother reportedly “choked” Simon.
According to the victim, he left his brother and went away. When Simon returned, he was attacked and chopped by his brother. Most of the serious wounds are one to the left side of the head and the left side of his neck.
“I ain’t really feeling much pain man. Is jus’ a lil thing when I swallow”, Simon told Kaieteur News.
The matter was reported to the police but it unclear whether the suspect has been held.
