The Guyana Badminton Association will be attending the Pan American Junior Badminton Championships which will be held in Kingston, Jamaica from July 25 to August 1 where over 16 countries will take part.
Last year Guyana won Bronze. The Championships will be played in the Under- 11,13,15,17 & 19 events which include Boys & Girls Singles, Doubles and Mix Doubles.
This year the Juniors have been in intense training for over a month by National Level Three Coach, Gokarn Ramdhani, who helped developed their game play, fitness and skills to a higher level. Over 600 Feather Shuttlecocks were used to prepare the Team.
The Team Members are: Captain-Nicholas Ali(U-19), Vice Captain-Christopher Persaud(U-19), Avinash Odit (U-19), Tricia Ramjit(U-19), Greer Jackson(U-17), Kevin Quaicoe(U-17), Narayan Ramdhani(U-15), Jamel Ramsook(U-15), Varsha Boodran(U-15), Ajave Singh(U-13), Jonathan Mangra(U-13), Christopher Camacho(U-11) and Priyanna Ramdhani(U-11).
The Team is expected to depart for the Championships today.
