Guyanese nationals continue to shine on the international scene. Following the accomplishment of a distinguished career an award has been bestowed upon Finance Director and Company Secretary of the Insurance Brokers-Guyana Ltd, Ewart Adams.
The young professional created history when he recently attended a conference in Tortola and became the first Guyanese to be elected as Lieutenant Governor Marketing for Caribbean Toastmasters District 81, this being the third highest ranking office of the district.
This district comprises 18 countries, all affiliated to the Toastmasters International. They include Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Curacao, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Puerto Rico, St Lucia, St Maarten, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos and the US Virgin Islands.
The Caribbean Toastmasters District 81 is committed to improving communication and leadership skills of nationals in more than 106 countries with over 12,500 clubs. Further, over four million people have benefited from the programme since 1924 when it was founded by Dr. Ralph Smedley in California.
As Lieutenant Governor of District 81, Mr. Adams will be coordinating the marketing strategies and activities necessary to achieve the district growth and objectives. Prior to attaining this prestigious portfolio, Mr. Adams ACS/ALS served in an elected position of Lieutenant Governor Marketing.
