One of the faithful and long standing corporate partners of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC), Farfan & Mendes has maintained that level of support when they handed over the second installment of the 2011 sponsorship package to the RHTY&SC Under-15 team.
Ever since 1997, Farfan & Mendes has been sponsoring this age-group team which has won three (3) Berbice championships and to date has produced a total of 17 Guyana junior cricketers, one West Indies Under-15 player and 47 Berbice cricketers.
Office Manager of the Club, Moonish Singh in accepting the cheque noted that this year, the company is contributing to the team the sum of $170,000 while they also co-sponsored the RHTY&SC’s Annual Awards Ceremony, Cricket Academy, Charity Programmes an Annual Youth Magazine among others.
Singh thanked the Management and staff of Farfan & Mendes for their continued confidence in the club, while assuring them that the Club officials will always strive for excellence. He also informed that current member of the club’s Under-15 team, Arif Chan, is currently part of the Guyana team competing at the Regional tournament in Trinidad and Tobago, while three players who were products of the team – Lloydel Lewis, Clinton Pestano, Dominic Rikhi – are presently in the Guyana Under-19 team also competition in the Regional tournament hosted here.
Marketing Executive of Farfan & Mendes Onai Vasconcellos stated that the company was more than pleased to be associated with the RHTY&SC and expressed their satisfaction that their investment in the club over the years was worth the while as they have seen great returns. Vasconcellos assured the club of Farfan & Mendes’ continued assistance.
The Farfan & Mendes/Rose Hall Town Under-15 team is the current Berbice champions.
