Young Amateur Boxers from Berbice who successfully participated in a number of boxing championships organized by the Guyana Amateur Boxing Association recently were recognized for their success.
Recently the boxers paid a courtesy call on Director of the University of Guyana Berbice Campus Professor Daizal R. Samad.
Prof. Samad, who is also a part of the boxing committee in Berbice, congratulated the boxers on their success and keeping Berbice on the limelight. In all 31 boxers participated in the various tournaments.

Recently an umbrella body was put in place to oversee boxing in the County and comprised of the Pocket Rocket Boxing Gym, The Rose Hall Town Jammers Boxing Gym, Central New Amsterdam Boxing Gym, and the Tiger Eye Boxing Gym.
The boxers are: Jamal Eastman, Damian Simon, Tyrone Lashley, Travis Fraser, Michael April, Joel Williamson and Damian Simon.
The boxers on their sojourn were sponsored by Giftland OfficeMax, Neil and Massy Group of Companies, Republic Bank (Rose Hall Town), Senior Superintendent Lyndon Alves, Mr. David Razak, and the University of Guyana Berbice Campus.
