Dear Editor,
The Chattergoons stand alone as Guyana produced the most brothers that played at the Regional Under-19 level from 1968 to 2010.
As arguments continue among Caribbean cricket fans, the topic most discuss is which country produced the most brothers that played at the Regional under-19 level. For the record since the inaugural tournament in 1968, Guyana is the only country to produce four brothers to the Regional under-19 scene.
The first was Hemnarine Chattergoon, who took Jamaica by storm in 1996 with centuries on debut and his second match. Following in Hemnarine footsteps was Sewnarine in 1997, 1998 and 1999. Ramnarine emulated the duo in 2000, but the Chattergoons had to wait 10 years for Harrinarine to join the fold but the wait was not in vain. The youngest Chattergoon magic moment came when St. Lucia hosted the 2010 TCL Regional under-19 Championship in July.
The Chattergoons surpassed another Albion set of brothers that represented Guyana at the Regional under-19 level: Stanley, Michael and Andy Chinsammy and Errol, Colin and Andrew Jackson. They also surpassed the Ganga trio of Trinidad and Tobago.
Please find below brothers that have represented Guyana at the Regional under-19 level since1968:
