Despite failing to win any of the three matches, Demerara Distillers Ltd. (DDL) emerged winners of the three-match aggregate Dominoes series against Caribbean Containers Inc. (CCI) and Neal and Massy which ended on Friday evening at CCI Canteen.
DDL ended the series with an aggregate of 219 games beating CCI into second position on 215, while Neal and Massy finished on the carpet with 207 games.
CCI won the final round with 73 games with DDL occupying the second position on 71 and N&M on 63 in a closely fought encounter.
At the end of the second round DDL were leading 148 games with Neal and Massy 144 and CCI 142.
CCI playing on home turf rallied back into contention but DDL maintained their earlier advantage to come out victorious in the series. I. Mohabeer of DDL, who led all scorers with the maximum 18 games, was voted Player of the match.
CCI Company Secretary Patricia Bacchus in brief remarks at the presentation ceremony said the series was very exciting and extended an invitation to the two teams to compete in another tournament.
