31 players invited; to be trimmed to 24
The Junior ‘Lady Jags’ continue preparations ahead of the upcoming Under-17 and 20 female World Cup Qualifying competitions.
The ladies have been encamped by the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) with Technical Development Officer Lyndon France assisted by a pool of other coaches in charge of whipping the ladies into the best possible shape.
This local camp follow closely on the heels of a one held for International players which took place last week in Toronto, Canada and involved players from Canada, USA and England.
The current local camp consists of players invited from scouting done in Guyana during the week of June 24 – July 3 led by Technical Director of the GFF Women’s Programme, Mark Rodrigues. The areas visited were Lethem, Bartica, Georgetown, Linden, Berbice and West Demerara.
The players invited to this week’s camp are:
Lethem – Janet Wenceslaus, Dian Mandokin, Leoni Robinson, Prescilla Allan, Theresa McDonald, Helen Milton, Leondra Simon, Ursela Primus, Amanda Cabral.
Georgetown – Althea Holligan, Jennel Brown, Natiffa Marville, Tasnica Lovell, Keisha Gordon, Anaida Walker, Shonette Gaspher.
Linden – Kenish Wilson; West Demerara – Keishell Moore, Jimacie Petty, Kerhanna Hunte.
Berbice – Rachael Subick, Beverly Rodrigues, Sasha Loo.
Bartica – Evern Ambrose, Kerry Thomas, Sheneze Henry, Lisa Perriera, Victoria Wong.
Kamarang – Steffi Walker, Ieolinda Issacc, Lisa Williams.
Following this week’s camp the squad will be reduced to 24 players. Plans are in place to have the reduced squad continue training with the current staff and joined by USA’s Hope Clark, Head Coach of Georgia State and University. Clark, also a specialist Goal Keeper trainer will be holding a national Goalkeeper camp from July 26 – August 1.
Guyana will host the first round of female Under-17 World Cup Qualifiers from August 17 – 21.
