Raj Singh Insurance Brokers received high praise for its contribution to development of sport locally at the presentation of last Saturday’s Medal play Golf tournament sponsored by the Company at the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC).
President of the LGC Brian Hackett said that the Chief Executive Officer Rajendra Singh of Raj Singh Insurance Brokers is an ardent sports enthusiast who has been at the forefront of assisting sport locally and he welcomed the Company on board as a new partner of the LGC.
Singh who presented prizes to the outstanding players promised to continue sponsorship of the tournament.
Twenty six golfers took part in the inaugural Raj Singh insurance Brokers Classic which was won by Mohanlall “Santo” Dinnanauth who shot the best net of 68 and also had the best gross.
Mark Lashley was second with net 69, while promising female player Joaan Deo was third with net 70.
The Nearest to the Pin prize was won by Canadian High Commissioner Francois Montour. Meanwhile, The LGC has announced the dates for the premier Guyana Open championships.
The tournament will take place on October 22-23 and is expected to attract players from the United States, Canada, Suriname and the European Union.
Last year over 75 players took part in the Open.
