The stage is set for the long-awaited Tropical Mist Pee Wee cricket final between Demerara Cricket Club (GCC) and Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) organized by the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) today at Thirst Park ground starting at 09:00 hours.
The 20-over a side encounter will showcase some emerging stars with DCC line up expected to include captain Shemar DeSouza, all-rounder Travis Persaud, Ronaldo Renee, medium pace bowler Angod Rupee and Xavier Smith who has so far taken the most wickets in the tournament.
The Bourda boys will be captained by all-rounder Ali Mohamed with support expected from Raymond Perez (spin bowler and prolific batsman) and batsman Sammy McKenzie.
DCC played unbeaten in the preliminary competition but GCC will be going all out to stop their opponents unbeaten run.
The umpires are Newton Parks and Nigel Hawke with the standby being Shaun Massiah.
The scorer is Neil Barry Jr.
The tournament is sponsored by Banks DIH whose Communications Manager Troy Peters will meet the teams before the start of play and assist in the presentation of prizes at the end of the match.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners and runners up, best bowler of the final, batsman of the final, best fielder and Most Valuable Player of the final.
