Dear Editor,
It is on a very disturbing note that I right to you about the St. Cuthbert’s Mission Toshao, Ernest Dundas. On Wednesday July 6, 2011, the Government’s propaganda piece disguised as a news paper (the Chronicle News) carried a feature from the Government Information Agency where Toshao Ernest Dundas was reported as saying that “under the People’s Progressive Party /Civic Government, St. Cuthbert’s Mission has seen numerous developments in infrastructure, the quality delivery of health care service and education, the delivery of potable water and electricity, as well as ICT training”.
On Monday July 11, 2011 The Guyana Times carried an article where Toshao Dundas told that newspaper that he would be taking the issues of unstable water supply and understaffed schools to government, as there has been little effort taken to address those issues.
Mr. Editor I am totally confused and I’m sure that many other readers are in the same state of mind. Toshao Ernest Dundas needs to tell the public what the truth about St. Cuthbert’s really is, or was he paid or threatened to speak of developments in St. Cuthbert’s Mission after the APNU Presidential Candidate Mr. David Granger and his team revealed what was really happening in that community?
Now I might add that this lengthy propaganda piece from the Government Information Agency in what should be the statement paper but instead is the Government’s propaganda piece (Chronicle), came just about one week after APNU Presidential candidate visited St. Cuthbert’s Mission and reported that the PPP/C has ignored the community for the past 19 years.
Through an APNU release Mr. Granger touched on a horrible access in that area that millions were spent on. The Toshao in the GINA Feature spoke about a solar panel located centrally in the village, but told Guyana Times about unstable water supply. He glorified the Education sector to GINA but described schools as being understaffed to the Guyana Times.
Now it is clear that those architects in higher office who control GINA concocted a plan to respond to Mr. Granger’s initial report of what really is happening in St. Cuthbert’s Mission; that plan however backfired since Tashao Dundas could not keep the truth to himself and went to the Guyana Times so that the truth can set him free.
