Repeated efforts to dethrone Rudolph Mitchell and break his one hundred plus winning streak have failed miserably and the Lindener continues to embarrass his adversaries on the track.
Once again, the national race-walk champ will attempt to enforce his dominance when the Cavalier’s Sports and Tour Club (CSTC) stages a two-day race walk fiesta in observance of International Year of People of African Descent, tomorrow and Sunday morning.
Tomorrow’s race commences at 06:30hrs from Trevor Harry’s Photo Studio, around the Soesdyke area and back to the place of origin.
On Sunday, walkers would convene at the same venue for the second race which covers a similar distance. Presidential candidate and leader of the Fundamental Structure Group, Anthony Snow will send the walkers on their way at both events and return later to assist in the presentation of prizes. Competitors will vie for trophies and medals donated by the business community.
Among the top names expected to grace the starting line are: Jeremy Cornelius, Donna Ramkissoon, Glayson Ralph and Kenneth Singh.
