Popular Berbice Business, Universal DVD Store of Trinity Street, New Amsterdam on Thursday last made donations to the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) and the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club (RHTY&SC).
The Store donated 1 HP Deskjet printer to the BCB and $50,000 to the RHTY&SC for its weekly Feeding of the Poor Programme.
BCB Treasurer Anil Beharry at the presentation said the Board had approached owner of the Company, Mr. Vickram Suebarran for the donation and he readily agreed to assist. The printer, Beharry said would be used to enhance the administrative and Public Relations work of the Board
RHTY&SC Secretary Hilbert Foster expressed gratitude to Suebarran and Universal DVD for his contribution to the Club while noting that it was the third such contribution for 2011. Foster stated that Universal DVD was working with the Club to assist the less fortunate especially single parent households.
Managing Director of Universal DVD, Mr. Vickram Suebarran hailed the Berbice Board and RHTY&SC as role model organisations who were making positive differences in the lives of youths and he was delighted to assist them to fulfill their mandates. Suebarran also pledged his continued support for both organisations and noted that he was actively involved in Berbice cricket through the sponsorship for the popular Universal DVD cricket teams. Supervisor of the store, Mr. Roy Singh made the presentations to representatives of both organisations.
