Two employees, a Warehouse Supervisor and a Driver/Salesman of Ansa Mc Al Guyana Limited’s New Amsterdam Branch were yesterday granted bail to the tune of $250,000 each by Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo when they appeared before her at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court on a charge of larceny by clerk or servant.
According to prosecutor Corporal Sherlock King, the two men, Tarachuvi Outar, 26, a warehouse supervisor, of Williamsburg, Rose Hall Town, and Parbatan Mangar, 31, a driver/salesman of 54 Nursville, New Amsterdam, between Sunday June 26 and Wednesday June 29, 2011 at New Amsterdam, Berbice, while being employees of Ansa McAl Guyana Limited, were entrusted with items to sell, which were placed on lorry GDD 8058. However upon completing their assignment, when the stocks were balanced it was revealed that the following items could not be accounted for and were suspected to be stolen: 102 Cases of Mackeson , 471 Cases of Carib Beer, 70 cases of Stag Beer, 17 cases of Carib Malta, 46 cases of Smalta, 19 cases of Lucazade, 3 cases of Nutrient Milk, 30 cases of Tropical Rhythms, 6 cases of Small Pringles, 6 cases of Imcolox milk and one bottle of Lambasco to a total coast of $3,223, 352.
The men pleaded not guilty to the charge and will have to return to court on August 8. They are represented by Attorney at Law Mursaline Bacchus.
