The Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club is set to stage a Post Emancipation Day Race Meeting at Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne, Berbice on Sunday August 14.
The programme consists of eight races over distances of 7, 6 and 5 furlongs. The B & Lower class over 7 furlongs with a first prize of $1M is the main event.
The E & Lower’s class over a distance of 6 furlongs will see the 1st place collecting $300,000.
The G & Lower event will see horses covering a distance of 7 furlongs for a $250,000 purse.
Horses will be vying for $200,000 in the 2 years old Guyana & WI bred horses race, a similar prize money available in the G & Lower class race over 6 furlongs. The I & Lower class running over 6 furlongs will see a top prize of $175,000 up for grabs.
The I3 (winner of not more than one race) & J & Lower class 5 furlongs event will see the winner claiming $140,000.
The K & L class covering 5 furlongs has a 1st prize of $80,000.

Races will be cancelled if less than five horses are entered. Entries close on Monday August 1. No late entry will be accepted.
