The Cavaliers Sports and Tour Club (CSTC) will stage its CARICOM’s Race Walk in observance of the Caribbean Community’s 38th Anniversary today, July 10, with several of Guyana’s top race-walkers matching their strides against National Race Walker, Rudolph Mitchell who chalked up 116 local consecutive victories.
Trophies, medals and other prizes will be at stake for the top three finishers in both the male and female categories which include seniors, juniors, veterans and differently abled.
Donations of trophies for this event were made by the Minster of Agriculture, Mr Robert Persaud, Minister of Labour, Mansoor Nadir, the Guyana School of Agriculture, Mr Remesh Dookhoo, President of the Private Sector Commission and Caricom Sports Officer, Mr John Campbell.
Interested participants must be present at the starting line at 06.00hrs as the race commences at 06.30hrs at the Guyana School of Agriculture, Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara as the race proceeds to the Caricom Headquarters, Liliendaal for the finish.
