Andrew Young and Courtney Bobb appeared yesterday before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry to face a charge of larceny.
The charge states that on July 5 they were employed as clerks by Linden Connelly when they stole the sum of one million dollars, the property of Connelly.
They both pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Police Prosecutor Venetta Pindar told the court that on the day in question, at about 10:00 hours, the two men were asked by their employer to collect the sum of $1M from a given location.
Pindar stated that the accused went on the assignment, and upon returning, they claimed that they had collected the money and that they were robbed of the said cash. As a result, an investigation was carried out, and the men admitted to the stealing the money.
The court was told that the money was recovered and they were subsequently arrested and charged with the offence.
The Prosecution had no objections to bail.
Young and Bobb were then granted bail to the tune of $250,000 each. They are expected to make their next court appearance on August 31.
