DEAR EDITOR,
There seems to be a number of malpractices which is tantamount to fraud within the government system, particularly within the local government department.
This is due to the fact that we have a very incompetent Minister and his equally incapable Permanent Secretary.
I think the Minister should do the honest thing and resign. This has been compounded by the fact that the Brazilian government has bluntly refused to accept him as a diplomat in their country.
Recently, an REO was appointed in Region Nine. To add insult to injury, this was another classic case of square pegs in round holes, hence a recipe for malpractices. This individual has been “paying” his way through to get his work done.
As a result of this he has caused a number of vehicles including several ATVs to be written off as unserviceable.
Recently a delegation from Lethem, including members from the business community, met with President Jagdeo to bring to his attention the number of mismanagement and malpractices by the REO.
According to reliable sources, the President admitted an awareness of the delegation’s findings but refused to act in correcting the situation, asking what else can he do.
From all appearances persons who are honest and capable of doing the job the right way are the ones this government doesn’t want.
It does everything and anything in its power to destroy and get rid of them.
Name withheld.
