During the morning session of yesterday’s proceedings at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry was performing her duties before the court when her chamber was broken into.
Magistrate Beharry was convinced that she had secured her chamber before entering the court room to commence the morning session. After the adjournment of the court, upon returning to her chamber, it was discovered that there had been forced entry, and upon further examination it was sensed that the person did not find what they were looking for since nothing appeared to be missing.
A report was subsequently made to the police. As a result, ranks came to the scene and carried out an investigation. The tampered area was dusted for fingerprints.
