Lightweight boxer Steffon Gouveia and Junior Welterweight Bert Braithwaite failed to get past the quarterfinal round of the Pan Am Box off being contested in Panama yesterday.
Gouveia’s had beaten Canadian opponent Jag Seehra, while Braithwaite defeated Johnny Baccino Val of Uruguay to reach yesterday’s quarters.
However, reports reaching Kaieteur Sport indicate that Braithwaithe lost to Yoelvis Hernandez of Venezuela 6-11, while Gouveia was edged by Wellington Arias of the Dominican Republic 16-17.
