Another case of a missing teenage girl has once again been reported this time at the East La Penitence Police Station.
Seventeen-year-old Shaundel Bernard has gone missing for one week now, after her guardian returned home to find her in a compromising position with a man in their home.
According to Ann Bentham, the teen was adopted by a family living in the United States of America (USA), and she was left in charge of the young woman’s wellbeing until the family could “take her across.”
Bentham explained that she had to leave the country and tasked her daughter, Denisea, with taking care of the young girl while she was out of Guyana.
Kaieteur News understands that on June 25, Denisea was at her workplace, when her neighbours telephoned her to say that Bernard was in their house with a young man.
Denisea left work immediately and upon arriving home caught Bernard in a compromising position with the man, identified as “Daniel”.
Daniel was asked to leave immediately while Bernard was instructed to “put on her clothes” and go to Denisea’s workplace until the end of the day.
However Bernard never showed up at the woman’s workplace and telephone calls to her number have gone unanswered.
Bentham told this newspaper, “I thought she would have returned but she hasn’t even though one week has passed. When you try calling her cell now, it is turned off. That is why as soon as I came back to Guyana I reported the matter.”
