Forty-year-old Karen Reece was yesterday remanded to prison on the charge of murder, when she made a court appearance before Magistrate Haymant Ramdani, at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
It was alleged that on June 24, she murdered Malcom Lancaster in the Ikawan mining area, Cuyuni River.
She was not required to plead to the offence, since it was indictable. Attorney at law Peter Hugh appeared on behalf of attorney Vic Puran.
Lancaster died one day after he was engulfed in flames allegedly caused by gasoline poured on him by the woman.
The matter was adjourned for July 22, for report and the commencement of the preliminary inquiry.
