Dear Editor,
I must again congratulate the RHTYSC Public Relations Department for its response. In fact, while it took Kaieteur News over a week to publish my annoying letter, the effectiveness of RHTYSC public relations dept. is indeed amazing.
I am aware that Public Relations and effective promotion of a product is what sell it and this club has been the best.
Shame on the Guyana Cricket Board!!!! Employ Mr. Hilbert Foster immediately. Remember “if it Sells it has to be Good”. Mr. Hilbert Foster, I have visited the Rose Hall ground where your club is based and I am aware that the facility is in a sad state.
The playing area is not much different from the surrounding cow pasture while the pavilion is in need of repairs; of course this is not your responsibility, but that of the NDC.
However, you are the one going around collecting sponsorship funds and should bear some responsible for repairs and upkeep. I will nevertheless accept your club’s invitation and bring my friends along.
Mr. Foster, we need people like you in the sport of cricket since not everyone can contribute all their time and energy, free of cost, for over a decade, while their spouse maintains the family. I take my hat off to you and those like you.
Since I will be making contact shortly to facilitate that invitation, I will appreciate if you can answer the following questions;
1.Do you receive a salary as Secretary/CEO of your club? I am aware that no Executive at the GCB, BCB, ECB and the defunct DCB receives any payment for performing administrative duties. 2.When was the last time your club had an AGM or election of office bearers?
3.How many sponsors does your club have and what are their individual contributions?
4.When was the last time an audit of your club’s accounts was done?
5.Is it true that all the catering for Berbice Cricket is done at a restaurant owned by your brother?
6.Is it true that you are the de facto President of Berbice Cricket Board?
Upon receipt of answers to these simple, straight forward questions I will proceed to make arrangements for that visit. At no time did I intend to be destructive but, in the interest of transparency, all must be accountable.
