The progress and development of the Henrietta United Football Club (HUFC), Essequibo Coast received a timely boost with the donation of a set of football which will aid in the continued progress of the club.
Ms. Carmelita Laulys handed over the balls to Club President Maxine Stewart recently on behalf of overseas based Guyanese, Ms. Beryl James and Lesley Stewart.
It was revealed by Ms. Laulys that Ms. James felt compelled to assist the club after reading via the internet about the teams’ performance in a recent game against Queenstown which the former won.
James it was reported said that she felt it an honor and privilege to make such a contribution to the young club while complimenting its President, Maxine Stewart and the rest of the executive.
James wishes the club continued success and has made a promise to render further assistance to club.
HUFC was formed some 13-years-ago and has a current membership of over 76 inclusive of both a junior and senior players.
Club Captain Chris Gordon in response thanked Ms. James and Mr. Stewart for the donation while promising that his team will remain vibrant despite the challenges faced.
