Officials attached at the transport and harbors department, have disclosed that the M.V. Torani, which was out of service for almost two days, is back in operation.
Two businessmen hired out Torani, which was not operational, to both passengers and vessels, over weekend, to conduct a Hindu wedding.
For the weekend, while M.V.Torani was out of operation, the Baramani, which is a smaller vessel, plied the Supenaam\Parika route.
Passengers traveling between the Essequibo Coast and Parika were however, not affected by the replacement of the Baramani.
Essequibo truck owners, who relied on the services of the M.V. Torani, to transport their vehicles on a daily basis said that the unavailability of the vessel, because of a wedding, was another lousy decision by senior management of TH&D.
Baramani, the M.V. Torani and the Mokouria are the three boats that ply the Supenaam\Parika route on a daily basis.
