The forms are in, the grouping stage has begun and all that remains is to … play for the glory. The Kares Ten10 Tapeball Tournament registration deadline is set for Sunday June 26 and to date there has been over 800 entries.
Managing Director of Kares Engineering, Mr. Radesh Rameshwar in a statement expressed his delight in the response received from the various clubs and teams and is urging all teams and clubs who have not submitted their registration forms to do so as he is hoping to have over 1000 teams playing in this inaugural tournament, which to date is the largest contingent of teams registered for such a competition in Tapeball history.
Mr. Rameshwar further commented that the purpose of this nationwide event is to invest approximately 25 Million dollars towards the growth of the nation as well as to foster social cohesion among communities. It will also afford the players of each community to display and improve their skills.
The tournament has a payout of over 10 Million in cash and prizes, where the male winners of the tournament will receive One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) and a trophy, the man-of-the-final and the man-of-the-tournament will each ride away with a scooter. The female winners of the tournament will receive Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000) and a trophy, the woman-of-the-final also rides off with a scooter.
There is a special schools tournament where the winners will receive Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) towards the development of the school, the player-of-the Semifinal and Final will each receive a Laptop (Male & Female).
The sponsor extends thanks to the numerous clubs and teams who have already registered and wishes all players success in the upcoming matches.
The tournament is set to bowl off on July 3 at the GCC Ground, Bourda where there will be an official launch and opening ceremony.
Unregistered teams are asked to note that there will be no further extension beyond the June 26 deadline and are urged to submit their forms to the various zone representatives, the forms are available in the press and the final publication date will be on Saturday, June 25.
