Guyana Educational Institute, New Campbellville Secondary, Tucville and New Amsterdam Technical Institute were among the latest winners as play in the inaugural Digicel-sponsored Nationwide Schools Football Competition continued, at various venues across the country.
In Georgetown, Guyana Educational Institute beat Queen’s College by a 2-1 margin.
New Campbellville Secondary then prevailed 4-3 on penalty kicks against St. Winefride after regulation time ended 2-2.
Mercy Wings also suffered a similar loss to Tucville after their encounter finished in a 4-4 stalemate.
Over in Region 3- Uitvlugt beat Leonora 4-2, while in Region 6, Winifred Gaskin Memorial defeated Corentyne Comprehensive 4-0.Trevor Fraser netted a double in the 23rd and 56th minutes, while Tevis Mendonca 48th and Nicholas Hercules 61st added the others.
New Amsterdam Technical Institute edged Tutorial Academy 2-1 with Delbert Simpson 58th and Devon James 62nd on target for the winners.
Brickdam Secondary went down to North Georgetown 4-3 on penalty kicks after regulation time ended 1-1.
St. John’s beat Bishop’s High 4-0 on penalty kicks after the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Patentia lost to Vreed-en-Hoop 1-3.
Cornel Paul netted in the 35th and 45th minutes and Julius Griffith added the other in the 17th.
Bygeval beat Buxton 2-0.
Jason Jack and Abraham Prawns were the goal-scorers.
President’s College beat Hope Secondary 2-0.
Micah Erskine scored both goals.
Skeldon Secondary defeated Manchester 8-0.
Dexter Lewis netted a hat-trick in the 12th, 22nd, 51st minutes; Steffon Hope did likewise in the 25th, 49th and 55th minutes, while Quancy Sears 4th and Devon Lindie 53rd completed the tally.
