Eight hundred grams of cocaine was discovered at the General Post Office (GPO) yesterday in two automotive parts which prompted the intervention of Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU).
Reports suggest that the perpetrator who was a woman used a fake ID when she visited the GPO to deliver the package containing the automotive parts. However, upon noting that her ID along with the automotive parts was being thoroughly inspected she disappeared.
The woman also gave a false address, and was under suspicion after her ID appeared to be more colourful than the original.
It was further revealed that the package was destined for Europe. The security cameras at the GPO will assist CANU and the police in their investigations.
