Pollydore & Williams chalk up wins; Savory & Gordon shine
Guyanese cyclists continues to hold their own in the United States of America; the quartet of Godfrey Pollydore, Scott Savory, Geron Williams and veteran Aubrey Gordon did themselves and country proud on Father’s Day in separate events.
Pollydore notched up a pair of wins at the 38th Annual Harlem Skyscraper Cycling Classis – David Walker Memorial held at the Marcus Garvey Park, Harlem, New York City.
Pollydore, who was piped on the line by young Scott Savory a few weeks ago was in no mood to allow the young and promising rider to dominate him again, at least not now, when he sped to victory in the Keirin Exhibition race with Savory claiming the 3rd spot. Pollydore also pedaled to victory in the Category 1 and 2 contest.
Over in Pennsylvania at the Gretna Bikes Race Avenue Criterium, Geron Williams continues to improve and gain valuable experience. The 20 year-old Continental Cycle Club member, rode to victory in the Category 1, 2 and 3 race in One Hour 12 Minutes 38 Seconds in a race that attracted 22 starters.
Veteran Aubrey Gordon (54 year-old) took the 3rd place in the 45plus category, the race attracted 26 starters.
