The Digicel-sponsored Nationwide Schools Football Competition continued with a series of matches at various regions across the country.
In Region 10- Wisburg edged Linden Technical Institute 1-0 with Jamal McKenzie’s 5th minute strike separating the two teams.
In the other game, Christianburg / Wismar beat Kwakwani 2-0.
On target for the winners was Trenton Bangee, who netted in the 5th minute and Clarence Huggins in the 67th.
On the East bank of Demerara, Covent Garden eased past Xenon Academy 2-0.
In Region 3-
Patentia defeated LaGrange 2-1.
Stewartville crushed Essequibo Island 6-0.
West Demerara went down to Vreed-en-Hoop on penalty kicks 3-4 after regulation saw the two teams battle to a 1-1 stalemate.
In Region 6-
New Amsterdam Multilateral hammered Line Path 9-2.
Jamal Butts netted in the 45th, 51st, 53rd, S. Grant also had a hat-trick scoring in the 19th, 25th, and 30th minutes, while Antonio Beckham added a double in the 9th, 66th and Akeem Bollers completed the tally with a single strike in the 63rd.
ASH Educational Institute cruised past Belladrum 6-0.
In Georgetown-
Central High was beaten by Satish Memorial 5-1.
In Region 7-
Bartica survived 5-3 on penalty kicks against 3 Mile after regulation time ended 1-1.
In Region 2-
Charity beat Essequibo Technical Institute 4-1.
