Close relative and friends of the late Victor Warner, are not satisfied with investigations into the businessman’s murder.
Angry relatives said yesterday that it is one month and a day since, Warner was murdered and police on the Essequibo Coast, are no closer to solving it.
“If the police who are claiming that investigations are ongoing and they are relying on a response from the Director of Public Prosecution , then what are they doing with the evidence presently before them”, argued relatives.
“If those evidence is not substantive, let the court prove the former three suspects who are out on $100,000 station bail, prove themselves innocent. Nowhere in history have I recalled persons or an individual being released on $100,000 station bail for two serious cases of robbery and murder,” one relative said.
Relatives are afraid that the Warner murder would go unsolved, given the direction investigations seem to be heading.
The dead man’s relatives are saying that they do not want Warner’s murder to become a dead case, because he was an affluent businessman who did not deserve to die like that.
Police said Victor Warner was discovered murdered at his Lot 11 Richmond residence on May 19 last. A spanner and a hammer were recovered at the murder scene.
The police found no sign of forced entry.
A quantity of cash and jewellery were missing. The police later said that they later discovered the stolen gold.
Soon after that discovery four suspects were in police custody—Warner’s daughter, a son, a close female associate and her reputed husband.
