Dear Editor,
This is a matter that deserves the attention/intervention of the relevant Government authority/official.
Something is definitely wrong and totally out of place here: Would you believe that the persons who were contracted to work for GECOM as caterers since February 2010 to now June 2011 have not been paid one blind cent? That’s right.
Those in Linden are all now extremely bitter, riled-up and have now grown totally frustrated and fed-up with the constant running around, querying and indefinite answers in regards to their payment.
They are in dire need of their money, some to the tune of $200,000, and seemed lost and confused as what next to do or who to present their case to. It is my understanding that this absurd situation that GECOM is responsible for is not confined to Linden/Region#10 but also to other Regions, which is not a healthy state of affairs for small scale business who have not only invested their time and money, but had also employed labour hand.
With elections around the bend, would the caterers be paid before it comes? Would their services be required once more and one grand payment be made? Or would they look for new people and pay them in their own sweet time? It is time that these people be paid in full with an additional interest to compensate for the ridiculously long wait of one year and four months and counting.
