…appears to be badly beaten
The partly decomposed body of a man washed up yesterday afternoon behind a Kingston wharf, just behind Demerara Woods.
A security guard attached to the Demerara Woods Company yesterday told Kaieteur News that someone made the discovery shortly after lunch yesterday. According to the guard the body appeared to be badly beaten.
He also stated that the man was clad in three-quarter pants, shirt and shoes. Police ranks were summoned to the area.
Kaieteur News was told that undertakers from the Lyken Funeral Home removed the body about one hour after the discovery.
Up to press time no one had come forward to identify the body. The police are asking persons who have may a missing relative to check with the funeral parlour.
