Top seed in the Men’s Open Jeremy Miller opened his defense of the title without difficulty turning back the challenge of top junior Seanden David Longe in straight sets 6-0 6-2 on Wednesday.
Miller was dominant and sent down several big serves which Longe had no chance against, losing the set at love. In the second set, Longe was able to take two games off the defending champion who progressed into the quarter finals with the win.
Progressing to the round-of-sixteen in the Men’s Singles with easy wins were Leyland Leacock, Gavin Lewis, Benedict Sukra and the Glasgow brothers.
Owen Lewis however had a stern test against Saevion David Longe who played excellently and almost pulled off the win. The match started with David Longe racing to 3-0 lead before Lewis found a groove and came back to win the set 6-4.
