Burglars yesterday smashed their way into a Regent Street store, stealing $5M in cellular phones and other accessories but in their hurry to escape they left curry powder and potato behind.
According to the Manager of PCS Wireless, Ramesh Sukhraj, in the wee hours of Monday two men broke into the store and escaped on foot with their booty, north into Wellington Street.
The culprits wrenched the locks off the metal shutters and smashed the glass on the door to gain entrance into the store. The watchman alerted by the commotion immediately ran over to the GuyOil Service Station located opposite the store and contacted the police.
He noted that around 3:30 am the police informed management about the robbery. This is the second attack the company has encountered.
Recently, one of the company branches was robbed approximately $8M.
