Ryan Tang slammed a fine half century to lead Walton Hall to victory over Charity by 20 runs in the New Building Society 40 overs cricket competition which continued recently in North Essequibo with third rounds matches.
At Charity, in a match which was reduced to 30 overs due to rain, Walton Hall took first turn at the crease and were bowled out for 159 in 29 overs.
Tang made 61 as former National Under-19 player Youngeshwar Lall grabbed 4-25 and Mario Gildharie 2-28. Charity in reply could only muster 139-9 off their 30 overs. Gildharie and Rennie Persaud made 30 each while Uvindra Balgobin picked up 3-28 and Suraj Sookdeo 3-22 for the visitors.
At Lima, Top Gun made light work of the hosts winning by 7 wickets. Lima batted first and were sent packing for 83 in 11 overs. Faizal Karim led with 20. Top Gun responded with 86-3 in 10 overs. Meanwhile the game between Gunners and Young Guns which was scheduled to be played at Cotton Field was rained out without a ball being bowled.
