Police in the mining town of Linden have destroyed over 8000 marijuana plants, 15000 seedlings and about 600 kilograms in dried ganja during a successful drug raid on Wednesday.
Police in a press release yesterday said that following up investigations into a report of alleged threats involving the use of a firearm, at about 09:30 hours on Wednesday, they conducted a search on a camp at Millie’s Hide Out, Soesdyke/Linden Highway, during which an unlicensed 12 gauge Mossberg shotgun and five matching cartridges were found.
The police said that they also found three other tarpaulin camps along with four fields, about eight acres in size, under cultivation and four nurseries with thousands of seedlings.
Two men have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
