Moses and Mohamed surprisingly omitted
National Under-19 left arm spinner Anthony Adams has been named Captain of the Essequibo team that will compete in the Guyana Cricket Board Under-19 Inter County competition. Adams who plays for South Essequibo will have Guyana and West Indies Under-19 fast bowler Ronsford Beaton as his deputy. The squad also includes the likes of National U-19 all-rounder Ricardo Adams, left arm spinner Herry Green, fast bowler Kevin Ferericks and former U-15 players Vijay Surujpaul and Mark Gonsalves.
Suprisingly omitted from the team are former National U-15 player Hassan Mohamed, all-rounder Nokta Moses, batsman Zameer Zaman and left arm spinner Moin Khan.
The omitted players performed creditably in the Essequibo Cricket Board/Goodwood Under-19 competition which the ECB used as a basis to select the squad.
Essequibo team comes from – Anthony Adams (Captain), Ronsford Beaton (Vice Captain), Ricardo Adams, Herry Green, Mark Tyrell, Faizul Karim, Kevin Federicks, Kevon Booodie, Tulsieram Premnauth, Vijay Surujpaul, Mark Gonsalves, Samuel Benjamin, Kellon Tracy and Seon Venture. Nandkishore Andrews has been named Coach) with Nazeer Mohamed as Manager.
