Greaves and De Nobrega to defend open & juvenile titles
The inner circuit of the National Park will come alive for another programme organised by National Cycling Coach Hassan Mohamed tomorrow.
Cyclists will be competing in the 11th Annual P & P Insurance Brokers and Consultants Limited 11-race Meet which pedals off at 09:00hrs.
Expected to be in contention in the main event, the school boys and invitation 35-lap contest is defending champion Alonzo Greaves who will aim to better last year’s winning time of 1 hour 21 minutes 14.56 seconds.
Opposition will not be easy however, with the likes of Robin Persaud, Raymond ‘Steely’ Newton, Warren ‘Forty’ Mc Kay, Junior Niles, Enzo Matthews, Kennard Lovell, Eric Sankar, Ian ‘Deaf Boy’ Jackson, Walter Grant-Stuart and Albert Philander also challenging for the top spot.
Last year’s juvenile (10-lap) winner Paul De Nobrega who recorded a winning time of 28 minutes 04 seconds will also be challenging in the main race.
The usual races will be contested which include events for BMX riders from age 6 to 14; upright and veterans. Managing Director of P & P Insurance Brokers and Consultants Limited Bishwa Panday is expected to be on hand to assist with the presentation of prizes.
