The Vreed-en-Hoop woman who was devastated when her two-year-old granddaughter went missing on Wednesday, was yesterday ecstatic at the safe return of the toddler.
The worried relatives were just outside their New Road home when they noticed little Anna Peters making her way towards their home through a passageway.
However the teen who allegedly abducted the toddler never showed and calls and messages to her cell phone have still gone unanswered.
The drop-off of the toddler was made around 13:00 hours and pedestrians claimed to have seen the teenaged Alisa Lake putting the toddler out of a car.
The toddler disappeared after she was taken for a walk by the 16-year old relative, Alisa Lake, last week Wednesday.
Ruby Lake, of 29 New Road Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara had told Kaieteur News that the teenager who had collected the child from her West Demerara home and had said that she was taking the child to her place of work at the Campbellville Health Centre.
The child’s grandmother told Kaieteur News that she waited up all night but they did not return and several calls to her cell phone went unanswered.
She also added that relatives had also contacted the heath centre where the teen claimed to be working but was informed that the girl has stopped working there a long time ago.
The grandmother Ruby Lake, has extended her sincere gratitude to the media for their assistance in bringing her granddaughter back home.
