As preparations continues at a brisk pace ahead of the 2nd annual Fitness Express/Total Fitness Mania Bodybuilding and Biggest Loser competitions, the Trophy Stall of Bourda Market has chipped in by donating the Overall Champion Trophy.
Yesterday at a simple handing over, Manager of Trophy Stall Ramesh Sunich said he was more than pleased to be associated with the Total Fitness Gym and their annual activity.
Sunich, who disclosed that The Trophy Stall has been in existence for the past 12 years, has been very supportive of sports and its continued development in Guyana, across the board.
“We have a very proud track record when it comes to fulfilling our corporate responsibility of giving back to sports.
This is part of what we are; we have supported and will continue to maintain this tradition of encouraging our sportsmen and women to always aim high.
“I have always admired the fact that the Total Fitness Gym is encouraging its members to aim high by bringing off such a competition which apart from creating good rivalry among the members, is also encouraging them to live healthy lifestyles and it also promotes a sense of camaraderie among the members.”
Sunich further stated that he was looking forward to seeing members of the public from Grove EBD and its environs coming out in their numbers to see the athletes flex their muscles on Saturday June 18 at the Diamond Community Centre.
Gym Manager Videsh Sookram in response thanked Sunich and The Trophy Stall for their continued support and related that the gym members are very grateful for the commitment shown by Sunich towards their competitions.
The overall trophy will be presented to the athlete crowned Mr. Total Fitness 2K11. Four categories in the bodybuilding segment will be contested come competition night namely, Male Under 143 lbs (novice), 155-165 lbs (novice) 165-174 lbs (senior) and over 174 (senior).
Their will also be the biggest loser competition which has attracted six competitors who have been doing their utmost over the past few months to lose weight while staying healthy.
Among the added attractions on the night will be a dance sequence performed by the popular group, Dance Fanatics as well as a Martial Arts display by the Chinese Embassy. The reigning Mr. Total Fitness is Travis Peters and he will be the guest poser, come June 18. Show time will be 18:30hrs.
